Member-Owner Gardens
We will be sharing our Member-Owner gardens and plantings with you on this page. We’ve made a special page for our heirloom and unusual veggies, which will include recipes as well as images, check that out, here.
Carol and Tom tell us, “We love the red heirloom nasturtiums that have taken over the front yard. They work beautifully with the last of the pansies we bought from Urban Roots the first weekend you were open….also love the heirloom cosmos. The first cosmos that have ever been happy in our backyard….maybe because I have finally learned that they need sun sun sun to thrive. This has been a wonderful year for gardening.”

Elizabeth tells us, “This is the Nicotiana “Bella” that I bought at Urban Roots. It’s easily 5 feet tall. (Behind it you see
another great heirloom annual, climbing petunia, which
is higher than its trellis. I highly recommend it.) I
thank you for making this wonderful old-fashioned
nicotiana locally available.”

Eileen tells as that her Astromeria was her favorite plant this year.

From Blair and Monique:

Gordon and his gardening partners, Brian and Kathy did well with our plants this year. Gordon told us, “The quality and vigorous growing habit of these beautiful annuals has really astounded me. In my 13 years of gardening at my home, I cannot remember having such healthy large plants this time of year! I cannot wait for the 2008 offerings!”

Emili is very pleased with the Weeping Cherry Tree she purchased at Urban Roots, “We planted the weeping cherry about a month and a half ago. It had about 1/3 the hanging branches that it has now, and they were from 1/3 to 1/2 the length. We’re quite happy with Urban Roots’ selection and look forward to years of enjoyment.” She also shared tomato images and a recipe, which you can find here
