Kristen Smith Armstrong

Kristen Smith Armstrong is Treasurer of Urban Roots’ Board of Directors

Kristen is a pediatric physical therapist currently working in the Buffalo Public School System. In this capacity she assists students with physical disabilities to increase their independence in the school environment and has initiated wellness programs to provide students an opportunity to learn to live healthy lives. Currently, Kristen is pursuing her Masters in Public Health specializing in family and community health from The Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.

Kristen is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Recently, she became involved in Healthy Eating By Design in Buffalo, a program working to improve school lunches in the Buffalo Public Schools and provide community gardening opportunities for students. She is a member of Allentown Association and Buffalo Central Terminal Restoration Corporation.

Kristen holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in physical therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo. Prior to her work in the Buffalo Public Schools, she lived in Boston, MA working with families in a local early intervention program.
