Let’s Talk About… Native Plants

Our Winter and Spring Gardening Series at Urban Roots continues with Let’s Talk About… Native Plants, on Saturday February 11th at 2:00 pm. A presentation will be given by Beaufort Wilbern, who says: “I’ve been gardening for myself for 35 years, professionally for 8 years, and have been actively concerned about the environment, practicing organic gardening and composting, throughout my gardening years. It was a natural evolution to become interested in the problem of invasive plants, the importance of natives, and the ecological balance that we gardeners both interfere with and support on a daily basis. Researching design ideas and plant recommendations for my work, I became more and more attracted to and informed about our beautiful native plants and began advocating for their increased use and availability.”
