Holiday Open Studio Tour!
This holiday Season, Urban Roots has a special treat for our customers. Two local artists who have a passion for recycling will be featured in the store.
Scott Bye is a local sculptor and painter who joins functionality and fiction. Scott transforms everyday objects into ambiguous structures, composite workhorses and beautifully complex assemblages. “When working with alternative mediums, you’re not really held by tradition or basic techniques. You are open to the ‘anything goes’ technique,” stated Bye. www.sculpturebyescott.com
Doug Sargent is a seasoned welder who recycles steel scraps, some dating back 100 years, and repurposes them into sculptures that maintain the material’s function but challenge its flexibility. For more info, email Doug@sargentroofing.com
